Made with Whey Protein Concentrate 80 (WPC-80), this formula is gently processed using a low-temperature cold microfiltration process and is non-instantized, meaning it contains no lecithin and no anti-caking agents. Instead of using artificial flavours, “natural flavours,” thickening gums, or engineered flavour systems, we keep the ingredient list simple and transparent.

Each TLC production lot follows our Raw-to-Finished Batch Verification Process. Raw ingredients undergo documented verification and third-party testing before production. After final blending, the finished product is independently tested against the applicable heavy-metal and microbiological specifications before release. Once testing is complete, the lot-specific report is published on our Batch Quality & Reports page and connected to the lot number through the package QR code.

Where our whey comes from

Our WPC-80 begins as fresh sweet whey — the whey stream produced during cheesemaking — and supplier documentation confirms the milk comes from cows not treated with added growth hormones (rBST/rBGH). The ingredient itself is a single-ingredient powder: whey protein concentrate, 100%, documented non-GMO and gluten-free. A note on flavour — and why there's no “natural flavour”

“Natural flavour” is a legal labelling term, not an ingredient: it can carry solvents, fillers and carriers like maltodextrin behind two words, and the label never has to name them. We don't use it. TLC PureProtein 80™ Heritage Vanilla Bean Spice is flavoured with real vanilla, fully declared — an alcohol-free vanilla extract (vegetable glycerin and water) carried on acacia fibre, a prebiotic plant fibre rather than maltodextrin, plus ground whole vanilla bean with seeds and Ceylon cinnamon. Every component is on the panel. Because there are no artificial flavours, no engineered vanilla flavour systems and no non-nutritive sweeteners, the taste is warm, aromatic and spice-forward rather than intensely sweet — it tastes like vanilla bean, not vanilla candy.
